So you have decided to buy yourself a scooter. Maybe because of the benefits on the environment or maybe it’s because it is cheaper than running a car. Or maybe it is just because you want to get out and ride around at the weekend for some fun. Maybe it’s to get away from the other half for a few hours of peace. Whatever the reason, the next step is to decide if you go for a cheap scooter such as the 50cc scooter or the more expensive and higher specification of a 125cc scooter.

Now weather you are a teenager with their first scooter or a young professional wanting to get to and from work quickly and easily you still have several things in which to think about before you can purchase your scooter. Both the 50cc scooter and the 125cc scooter come in a variety of designs and colours. These can make each scooter a little more individual and with a variety of extras you can design your perfect scooter. Now you must decide if you want to go for a 50cc scooter or a 125cc scooter.

The 50cc Scooter can travel up to about 45mph which is perfect for a little run around maybe around town or just getting to and from work or the shops. They are perfect for anyone as you only need to be 7 years or older with the correct CBT license so no matter who you are you can use one. This is a cheap scooter in comparison but that doesn’t mean it is not of any use.

The 125cc Scooter is more powerful and can get up to speeds of 65mph which can make it a better choice for longer distances such as a journey to work. Even so it can still be good for a youngster’s first scooter or for someone to just let loose and enjoy the freedom that comes from a scooter. These are also good for someone who is interested in buying a scooter just so they can ride around on weekends and feel the wind against their face and really feel free.

Which ever scooter you decide you can find them at any good moped shop or a scooter shop or even online. Simply type 50cc scooter or 125cc scooter into a search engine and you will be given a number of mopeds for sale at different places. You will probably find that the online scooters are cheaper as the retailers have fewer overheads due to being based online and not in a large building.

Along with either scooter you must also ensure that you get the correct safety equipment. For a start you must buy a good quality helmet as this could one day save your life. It would also be a good idea to buy the correct type of clothing. All together this will make travelling around on a bike to be not only fun but also as safe as possible. Have fun.
