A cheap moped saved my finances

Posted by admin on 17th April 2008 and filed under Scooter Articles

A few months ago I was heavily in debt with money on my credit cards and to many out goings. I had a large house with a large mortgage to go with it and although that was ok the credit cards were now in the thousands and with additional extras like my car it was costing me big time. I was spending nearly £100 a month just to drive to work and back and on top of that it cost a fortune to insure and maintain. On top of that the government continue to tax large cars like mine more and more and no doubt that will continue.

I needed a way to pay off my credit cards and lower my month expenses. I eventually spent a Sunday afternoon thinking and researching any and all possibilities. Eventually I came across a moped shop online. Looking into it I was amazed by the amount of different makes and models available. Not to mention an amazing amount of different colours and a number of extra add ones.

Once I had decided I was going to get a moped I just needed to investigate further to get the best possible deal. I went to a couple of local moped shops looking for cheap mopeds especially interested in 50cc mopeds as I was very new to this and didn’t want to get anything more powerful than I could handle. I also looked on the internet by using search engines to find online moped shops. I felt that was a good way to get the best possible deals and maybe even get a moped delivered right to my house. Prices are always less on the internet.

Eventually I decided on the make and model I wanted in a nice navy blue colour with a box on the back to put my bits in when riding to work. I set up lessons and before I knew it I was riding my new moped to work. It was only a cheap moped costing only a few hundred pounds but it did exactly what it needed to.

I went out and sold my large gas guzzling car and successfully cleared almost all my credit cards. Within a month or two I had cleared them completely. This was because my road tax was less, my insurance was less and petrol was no where near the cost on my 4 by 4 car. I found that it saved me a small fortune and made my monthly expenses far more manageable. As a result I felt happier and less stressed and I still enjoyed the freedom of travelling to work when I wanted to. It didn’t take much longer and if anything being able to over take meant that I was getting to work a bit quicker. It gave me great freedom and felt wonderful to ride.

I would strongly recommend cheap mopeds to anyone who is in a similar position to me. 50cc mopeds are the best for saving money without losing any freedom. Go and do it for yourself. You will not regret it.

My Great 50cc Moped

Posted by admin on 31st March 2008 and filed under Scooter Articles

When I first learnt to drive as car, I was wondering if you stay with a car or buy another vehicle such as a moped or scooter. They come in two different varieties which are 50cc mopeds or scooters and also 125cc engines. Mopeds are basically 50cc scooters as there is a limitation on the speed you can get them to go in due to not having a full licence until you have taken a proper examination.

On my first lesson driving a car, when I got the bottom of the road my examiner did not tell me what to do so I was not aware I had to lower the clutch to either stop or to change gear so I stalled the car so basically testing me to see what I knew.

The same could be said for driving a 50cc moped as in the wrong hands, you and other people could be in danger if you are not used to controlling them, changing gears, being on the road or overall observation. With a car you are able to sit down and in away, relax more. On a moped or scooter you are in direct contact with your surroundings, air and noise as you have no windows to block out distractions. As well as roads which have bumps, potholes and other obstacles, controlling 50cc mopeds can be quite tricky. As they only go around 30mph, many car drivers are quite impatient in waiting to overtake you or wonder in what direction you are going until you give the correct signals either using the indications or your hands.

One aspect of using a moped is the mentality of the driver and their age. Even though you need to be 17 to learn to drive in the United Kingdom, you can be younger when being responsible of a 50cc moped or scooter. This means it is very tempting to show off to your friends, try and negotiate around obstacles such as cars and lampposts where common sense would say take it slow, be careful and watch out you are not going to injure yourself or pedestrians or other drives or cars or scooters.

A great thing about mopeds is the fuel consumption is a lot less than a car, so ideal for a first vehicle if you cannot afford to buy a car, road tax and the petrol itself. The running costs overall are a lot cheaper, and if you are interested in repairs you can look into maintaining and repairing your scooter yourself which also costs money. Whichever you choos,e, a car of cheap mopeds make sure you take in the safety aspects before purchasing.

My new scooter – my new freedom

Having just started my first job after college I found that the journey to work was the worst part. Having to walk 15 minutes to the train station and waiting for a train that was usually extremely full. Some days it was hard to even get on and I never used to get a seat. I was often just pleased if the train turned up on time. I seemed to be paying a load on money for a terrible and unreliable service. Then once work was finished it was back up to the train station to get on a train that was every bit as full as the train in the morning.

Then a friend of mine came round on his new 50cc scooter. I was really impressed but didn’t think I had the money to buy one for myself. Then he told me that the 50cc scooters which I may add could also be called a 50cc moped was actually quite a cheap moped. You can get them from any moped shop. Well I had to check this out for myself so I went around every moped shop in the area and also typed cheap mopeds into a internet search engine and found that he was absolutely correct. A cheap moped would only set me back a few hundred pounds which once I then gave up travelling on the train I could save in no time at all. I wouldn’t have to walk to and from the train station on the way to work.

I found a good looking moped shop online and ordered my 50cc moped which was delivered amazingly quickly. I also got my provisional licence and in just a few weeks I was riding to and from work. It actually worked out not only cheaper but quicker as there was no walking or waiting for trains anymore. I was crammed onto a train with hundreds of other people.

I managed to work out I was saving myself about £50 a month which would pay back the price of the scooter in less than a year. I was impressed with this moped shop because they had such a wide range of makes and models and every colour anyone could ever want. I got a red coloured one as that’s my football team’s colour. Never before had I thought that a cheap moped could make me so happy or have such a huge impact on my life. Its fantastic. Next year I may go and get a 125cc scooter. I’ve already seen one I like at the moped shop I went to.

Now not only do I have the benefits of travel to and from work but on weekends me and a few friends go riding together which gives us all a feeling of real freedom. Its good to get out and about and its amazingly good fun. I would recommend to anyone to consider buying one. Just look into it buy going to your local moped shop or by looking online. You will be amazed.

Scooter and Mopeds

I used to drive to work in our large family car. I would spend half the time it took to travel to work just sitting in traffic lights which seem to be everywhere within towns and cities these days. It would cost a fortune in petrol and I must admit with the continuing environmental impact of large cars I was beginning to wonder what I could do about it.

It the suddenly came to me. I would get a moped. It didn’t have to be a huge expense. A cheap moped would do. Something like a 50cc moped would be fine. I thought it could be the thing to solve all my travelling to work issues.

I went online and used a search engine to find some online moped shops. Just put cheap mopeds into the search engine and up came a number of companies. I started to look through the wide range of mopeds available. There were a surprisingly large number of models and they all seemed to come in a variety of colours. These moped shops were selling cheap mopeds like the 50cc moped and also a few 125cc mopeds which were a little more expensive. They have such a great selection.

I eventually decided to buy a navy blue 50cc moped and went out and got all the helmet to match and some decent clothes to wear while I’m riding. Ordering it online I had it on my driveway in no time at all and there I was riding to work for the first time. Although it doesn’t travel much above 45mph it doesn’t matter as a large part of my journey is in town where you are stopping every 100 yards for traffic lights. The most immediate benefit was that I could ride past all the cars lined up at the traffic lights so I was at the front of the queue when the lights turned green. As I was lighter than the cars I could accelerate away quickly and I often found I could reach the next set of lights in time before they went red. I immediately took a third of my travel time both to work and home again.

I also found that I was spending a lot less on petrol and that not only helped my wallet but also was helping the environment. We were then able to sell our second car as it was no longer needed. The money we got for the car was enough to not only cover the price of the moped but also the clothes and other equipment to go with it and we still had enough money left for a family holiday. I cant believe I didn’t do it earlier. A good 50cc moped is the best thing I have bought in a long time. It maybe just a cheap moped but it has made a huge difference to my life and all for the better.

I would recommend to anyone that they go out and buy a scooter or moped even if its only a 50cc mopeds and see the benefits like I have. You wouldn’t believe the choice they have at these moped shops. Just see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

The futures bright, the futures scooters

Posted by admin on 17th March 2008 and filed under Scooter Articles

Imagine the scene; you’re sat in a long line of traffic going as far as the eye can see. You’re moving no more than a few meters at a time. You’re getting nowhere when suddenly a scooter rides past you and every other car in the queue. You sit their and think what I’d give for a scooter or moped right now. Even a cheap scooter or a cheap moped would be preferable to sitting in this queue with no end in site. How about travelling through a modern city with traffic lights every few hundred meter. A scooter or moped could ride past the waiting cars and get to the front of the queue. With a lighter vehicle even a 50cc scooter or 50cc moped could accelerate and with no effort at all you are away ahead of any car. If ahead you come up against another queue of traffic once again you ride down the side and get to the front. Its one of the quickest ways of travelling through a modern day town or city. Just get yourself a cheap moped.

This is one of several benefits to today’s scooters and mopeds. A 50cc scooter or 50cc moped can set you back only a few hundred pounds. Weigh this up against a car which would cost a few thousand. This is an immediate cost benefit. An additional cost benefit is the cost of petrol and other running expenses. The only additional cost for a scooter or moped is the cost of a helmet and clothing to ensure that you can ride safely.

A cheap moped or cheap scooter could be just the thing for today’s teenager too as it does not break the bank and gives them the freedom to get to friends houses or get to their part time job and home again. A 50cc Scooter is perfect for them. There are cheap scooters that still do everything you need of them. Even professional people can use scooters to get around and in particular to work. Another group who can benefit from a scooter are the middle-aged who want to enjoy feeling younger and free. Just to enjoy going out for a ride in the country without necessarily having anywhere to drive to. Scooters and moped can be great fun to ride as long as done safely after proper training.

Another major benefit is the environmental impact of a scooter or moped. With all of us becoming increasingly sensitive to our carbon footprint just imagine the improvement that can be made by leaving the car at home and using a cheap scooter instead. If enough of us did that on a regular basis it could have a major impact and help to repair the environmental damage that has been done over a number of years.

Just remember that the many benefits of scooters and mopeds can make a positive impact but only if it is done in a safe and responsible manner with the correct safety equipment and the correct training. Be safe and enjoy.

50cc Scooters or public transport

Posted by admin on 16th March 2008 and filed under Scooter Articles

These days a lot has been made about taking public transport to work to get cars off the road. We are bombarded with newspaper reports about the climate telling us to stop driving and to get on the bus or train. In fact the buses and trans offer a dodgy service at best and are getting more expensive by the day.

The answer is simple. Get yourself a 50cc Scooter or a 50cc Moped. They are effectively the same thing. Even a cheap scooter can over a period of a year prove to be cheap than a year of travelling by train or bus. A 50cc scooter will set you back only a few hundred pounds but once you have it the fuel costs are quite small. There are plenty of moped shops out there selling cheap mopeds and cheap scooters which are becoming ever more popular.

They are a compromise between the environmentally friendly public transport which is expensive and overcrowded and the freedom to travel on the roads. Although 50cc scooters and 50cc mopeds do not travel at great speeds they will offer you the flexibility to get from home to work and back again.

50cc mopeds will set you back only a few hundred pounds which in comparison to a car is a fantastic deal. Add to that a saving on insurance and a much reduced fuel bill but keeping the flexibility to travel when and when you want and you will wonder how you have lived with out a scooter all this time.

Many towns and cities are now investing a large amount of money on parking especially for scooters and mopeds and this gives yet another incentive to purchase one. After a few weeks of travelling on a scooter even if only a 50cc scooter you will never want to change.

There are also an ever increasing number of manufactures with different makes and models on the go coming in a number of different colours. For example young professional women may decide to go for a pink moped while a young male may pick a blue or back one. The choices of make and models are endless.

Imagine how much more space there would be on our roads today if the number of people taking to scooters increased. It would lead to less pollution as well which in the long run benefits us all. As the number of sales increase the price will continue to drop.

To purchase one just go to your local moped shop or type 50cc scooter or 50cc moped into a search engine on the internet and you will have access to a number of moped shops. Its just a matter then of deciding which one to buy. Of course it should be mentioned that although the benefits are obvious and the enjoyment that comes with it exciting it is only that good if you are safe along with it and have invested in the right safety equipment. Just see for yourself.

50cc Mopeds can offer one of the best ways to get around a town or city. Even a cheap moped can be an efficient way to get around. Mopeds can’t normally go to fast. All over Europe you will see mopeds at tourist destinations and are well used in the United States of America. They are great for getting around whether you are a teenager or just wanting something more affordable than a car. Even some middle aged people use them as a quick and efficient way of getting around and as they don’t take up as much room to park. A cheap moped or even a cheap scooter can be the best solution on your wallet.

The advantages to using a car are obvious. A moped is cheaper than a car and will also cost a lot less to operate. Just like any cheap scooter, a moped will not cost much to use as the fuel costs on low powered vehicles is quite cheap. Of course you will still need insurance but even that will be less than a car.

Mopeds can be purchased both new and used. They generally don’t get a huge amount of use so it may always be best to buy a used although mopeds don’t cost a lot even when new. Use an online search engine or look in your local paper.

To ensure you are safe you must also ensure you have the correct clothing and a helmet will be needed. You may wish to invest in a good quality pair of gloves as part of your kit. This goes for any passengers you may have with you. Safety is of major importance. It will need to be road worthy as well but again it is cheaper to run than buying a car.

Once you have the kit you can begin your training and get your license. This can be done in quite a short space of time and once done you will be able to enjoy the freedom that mopeds can give you.

Mopeds are by far one of the best overall ways to get around towns and city and can prove to not only be very cost effective but also not so damaging on the environment which is a concern for us all these days. While you can’t hold as much on a moped as you can in a car the benefits far out-weight the negatives. Try it for yourself and you will soon find you couldn’t cope without one.

Mobility Scooters

Mobility Scooters are the latest buzzword these days in affordable personalized transport. They offer easy and affordable transportation facilitating your daily chores. They are available in a variety of options. Different styles and colors, different models, different ranges and capabilities; it can all get quite confusing when you’re trying to make the most informed choice. So, here, to help you out, are a few tips:

• Capacity- Typically, you won’t be able to carry more than 250 pounds on a standard lightweight scooter without causing your vehicle serious damage, so this is a fact that must always be kept in mind.

• Tires- You have two options when it comes to tires:
Pneumatic tires: These act as terrific shock absorbers when traveling on bumpy roads or uneven areas but are prone to get punctured. So if you opt for these, keep an eye on tire pressure.
Solid Rubber tires: These aren’t going to absorb shocks very effectively and in fact may feel quite stiff to the rider. You will also have to be aware of when you’ll need a tire change and this will depend on how frequently your scooter is ridden.

• Stability- 4-wheel models are always a more stable bet than the 3-wheel ones, but the latter have the obvious advantage of maneuverability. They are far easier to control down aisles, in your home and when taking a tight corner.

• Insurance- Always check with your medical insurance agents whether your purchases are coverable by insurance when buying one or more scooters. Some larger scooter models may come with a lift as they may not fit inside the trunk of a car with regards to storage. You should also remember to check that such a lift is also covered by your insurance policy.

• Range- The mileage range of your scooter per recharge is going to vary from 10 miles for a standard lightweight to 25-30 miles for sturdier models. The range, however, is dependent on several crucial factors you should always bear in mind.

. Most importantly, weight. As the weight on your scooter increases, its range will decrease, so key this factor in when making grocery trips or transporting other objects.

. The colder the weather, the range on your scooter may decrease if used out of doors.

. The batteries are going to affect your range too. If the range of your scooter is low, you’ll have to recharge more often between trips. Batteries, as they grow older, lose their capacity to store maximum charge and decrease the range of your mobility scooter and after a particular point, you will need to get your scooter batteries replaced. But the good news is, with advancements in battery technology, the range of your vehicle can only increase in future.

• Ask your scooter dealer if you have any queries regarding speed specifications of your vehicle.

Proper research is important when buying a mobility scooter. If you can get all the features and capabilities you require in one vehicle, your life and commute will get that much simpler.
